At Sowing Seeds Family Hub, we are dedicated to building communities that are strong, resilient and supportive. We know that it takes collaboration, hard work and commitment to achieve this, and that's why we are currently applying for funding to provide even more opportunities for people to come together. Whether it's support groups, classes, workshops or simply a friendly place to meet new people, we want to make sure that everyone has what they need to thrive.
We are so grateful for all the ideas and visions you have all had for the hub since we opened in September 2023 and look forward to bringing more of them to life. Check out below some of the ideas we are looking to introduce in the coming months.
What's Coming Soon?
During the COVID-19 pandemic, hospitals introduced wobble rooms to help staff decompress from the stress and long hours of working with patients. These rooms quickly became recognized as a valuable resource for managing stress and anxiety, and we are proud to be offering the same benefits to our community. Our wobble room will be a calm space where you can engage in activities that stimulate your senses, help you relax, and reduce stress. So if you need a minute to yourself, can't face going home just yet, want somewhere safe to "just be", our wobble room will be waiting for you.
We understand that setbacks and mobility issues can affect anyone, so we will be partnering with Active Herts to offer low impact rehabilitation sessions. If you're recovering from an operation or dealing with mobility issues, we will be providing sessions that can help you get back to living a healthy lifestyle. All that's required will be a GP or self-referral and we'll provide all the necessary equipment and support to help you regain your confidence.
Breast Feeding Drop In's
For new mums, breast feeding can be a challenge. Our drop-in sessions will provide access to qualified midwives who can offer guidance and support, making the process a little easier. But we're not just about providing practical assistance – we want new mums to feel supported and cared for, so you'll find our sessions are a friendly and warm environment, where you can chat with other new mums and enjoy a cuppa and cake from the cafe. More information to follow shortly.
Independent Young Adults 20-25
We will be providing a space where independent adults can find a place to connect, belong and grow in confidence. Our mission is to create an inclusive community for those who may find social situations challenging or overwhelming. We will be providing a space designed to help young independent adults build meaningful relationships with like-minded individuals, in a safe, fun and supportive environment.
